Stars Noel Clarke and Ashley Walters will return as cop-buddy duo Bishop and Pike, who in series one saw family, friendships and loyalty put to the test in six episodes full of humour, emotion and action. Not to mention all the car chases.

Blasting onto screens in May, the first episode of Bulletproof had a cumulative average audience of 1.59 million viewers, making it the biggest Sky One audience of the year.

Produced by Vertigo Films, the blockbuster drama was written and created by Clarke, Walters and Nick Love (The Football Factory).

Noel Clarke said, “This is a culturally significant and ground-breaking show in many ways, and we appreciate the record views and support along the way. We made this show for people we feel are underrepresented so they could be entertained, which they were, and they came out in droves to watch. Thank you to all who tuned in and see you for series two.”

Ashley Walters said, “The audience response to the show has been overwhelming. I’m looking forward to working with the rest of the Bulletproof team on series two – we’ve got some exciting storylines lined up. The action and drama is about to step up to the next level!”

Bulletproof follows recent successful Sky original productions such as Save Me, Britannia, Tin Star and Riviera, and demonstrates Sky’s continuous focus on creating high quality British drama.

Anne Mensah, Head of Drama at Sky, said, “The combination of heart-pumping car chases and emotionally charged storylines made Bulletproof’s first series a must-watch for our viewers. We’re excited to be working with Noel and Ashley to bring back Britain’s new favourite cop-buddy duo for even more action, laughs and thrills next series.”

Co-creator Nick Love said, “I’m so excited to have the opportunity to build on themes of the show which audiences responded to in the first series, and I am looking forward to getting back to work on the next series”

Executive Producer Allan Niblo, Vertigo Films, said, “With Bulletproof we wanted to give British cop drama a twist, bringing a combination of blockbuster action and warmth and humour to screens. We’re so pleased with the response, and can’t wait to work with Sky to bring back Pike and Bishop for another series.”

All six episodes of the first series of Bulletproof are available to watch on Sky On Demand and TV streaming service NOW TV. Bulletproof series two was commissioned by Sky’s head of drama, Anne Mensah and Sky’s drama commissioning editor, Cameron Roach.

The international distribution rights for Bulletproof will be handled by Sky Vision, Sky’s international production and distribution arm.
